We recently purchased a Mountain Hardware Trango 3.1 Mountain Hardwear Trango 3.1 Expedition Tent and have used it for a trip across country. We bought the Trango for its flexibility - we do everything from car camping to motorcycle touring to wilderness canoe tripping. The Trango is too heavy for serious backpackers but perfect for our use and not too much to portage good distance or pack on the back of our motorcycles. The tent seems tough enough to live up to its mountaineering design center; it has more guy tabs that we hope to ever need, but it is reassuring to know they are there. Poles are very easy to manage and the tent goes up in about 5 minutes or less with two of us doing the job; de-camping is a bit slower only because I am a bit fanatical about getting all stray dirt and sand off the tent as it is stashed.
