 Light weight performer, This review is from: Mountain Hardwear Light Wedge 2 Tent (Misc.) I own 2 of these tents. They are a wonderful light weight tent. Some people have difficulties guying out their tents - all tents are bad in the wind. The walls are nice and upright. The storage tray is brilliant. One should look at the sq. footage of any tent they buy - this is a relatively spacious 2 person with lots of nice features. I have been in it in pounding rain and stayed nice and dry while the less expensive tents all around began to drip. Guying out a tent is an art form and ANY tent can withstand relatively strong winds but even the most expensive tents will fall apart if they are not guyed properly. A tent should also be pitched so that the foot is into the wind.Mountain Hardwear is wonderful when it come to service. I broke a pole once and 3 days later I had a replacement on my desk. I also like the light weight pitch option with the footprint. Buy this tent if you are 2 people backpacking - not ultra light but much more spacious and easy to put 2 full... On first camping trip, the large wire gate on the clip that holds the top of the tent frame bent and tore the rain fly. The provided guy lines barely helped with the wind. I was really disappointed and the tent was sent back. No thanks. I wouldn't recommend this tent to anyone! |
